Project Car: 1974 Porsche 911 3.0 RSR Fia Racecar

A fully race-ready FIA-approved 1974 Porsche 911 3.0 RSR Replica, complete with period H1 1972-'75 class GTS27 HTP papers, built to exacting RSR specification including an MCE-built 330bhp 3.0MFI slide-throttle twin-spark engine, race-reinforced 915 gearbox with LSD, full RSR coil-over suspension and brakes package, BBS rim-sets for road and slick tyres, FIA roll-cage, plumbed fire suppression and an extensively lightweighted GRP/steel body achieving 920kg kerb weight.

Extensive race history as an RS in Europe, now fully rebuilt to 1974 3.0RSR spec:

Based on a 1976 shell fully stripped to bare metal and rebuilt with weight reduction paramount, modified to FIA-compliant rear suspension pick-up points for RSR steel arms, coil-overs, front RSR oil cooler and a full cage, coupled with a race-prepared 3.0 RSR engine and transmission, this car must surely have one of the greatest power-to-weight ratios available for any naturally-aspirated 911, let alone a period-correct '70s era FIA-approved RSR. At 358bhp/tonne, this car surpasses even the 911 GT3RS of today, incredible considering the 50 years of development between them. And it does this with no electronic driver aids, no power steering, no servo-assisted brakes and no water-cooling. If a modern GT3RS seems just a little bit boring, or you want to go historic racing with a car that feels 100% authentic to the original, this is the car for you.......

  • Engine: Mike Champion-built 3.0-liter 6 cylinder, boat-tailed 930/02 Al-case with lightweight crankshaft, race-spec rods and pistons, RSR cams with centre-oil feed and lightweight valvetrain engineered to 8,000rpm red-line, Bosch RSR mechanical fuel injection, Bosch twin-plug CDI ignition, slide-valve throttles, custom race electrical harness, billet flywheel, amber shrouds, 110L centre-fill fuel tank. 3hrs on engine, dyno'd and tuned ready-to-race.
  • Transmission: 915 Mg-case with internal bearing reinforcement for race applications, 7/31 final drive, 40% ZF limited slip differential, Wevo shifter. Approx 6hrs on gearbox since rebuild.
  • Body: Bare metal shell stripped, reinforced and rebuilt with 6-point safety cage, lexan side & rear windows, RSR GRP front wings, rear wings, bumpers, bonnet and engine lid.
  • Suspension: Front & rear coilovers, Bilstein dampers w/Eibach springs, rose-jointed 935 fully adjustable front arm assys, RSR ‘short’ rear trailing arms w/raised pivot rose-jointed rear spring plates, 20/22mm adjustable A/R bars.
  • Brakes, Wheels & Tyres: 930 4-pot calipers & discs front & rear, lightweight RSR handbrake caliper assys, BBS custom-made 10J & 13J split-rims with choice of road legal or race slick tyre fitments.

Built for FIA Historic competition, with HTP papers for FIA class GTS 27, eligible for Le Mans Classic, Spa and many other FIA international and MSA national-level events, and with the added benefit of being fully-road legal with UK road registration. Drive to the track, go racing, drive home. This is historic racing at it's best.
